Account Manager

Summary of Position:

AV Chicago’s sales team is looking for an account manager to join our sales department. The position will help field inbound sales leads and take them through the contract execution event lifecycle. In this position, we are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, excels in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities simultaneously. This position will be assigned inbound leads in addition to handling their own book of business.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to engage or re-engage clients
  • Field inbound sales leads to facilitate an excellent client experience within our sales process
  • Track deals within CRM
  • Gather event details and specifications from client. Attend site surveys as needed.
  • Work with project management to create a proposal that matches the client’s needs.
  • Generate pre-show event budgets
  • Prepare and present client proposals.
  • Ensure clients are transitioned from sales and to project management upon event confirmation
  • Coordinate event billing and payment with the client.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of event sales experience
  • Knowledge of events and/or AV production
  • Experience planning and executing events, examples include: Event Project Manager, Meeting and Event Planner or Event Producer
  • All-In mindset to jump in and help out wherever needed.
  • High attention to detail and accountability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic technical skills in AV or an experience in selling event technology solutions

Driver

Summary of Position:

Drivers are responsible for transporting clients or handling deliveries in a timely manner, and they may have to work nights and weekends to accomplish their duties. Transport clients and/or packages to and from destinations. Arrive at destinations on schedule.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Delivery
    • Safe and efficient operation of AVC vehicles while maintaining the assigned schedule by arriving on time at all events and equipment deliveries
      • Abide by all traffic laws while operating AV Chicago vehicles
      • Operate assigned vehicles with care
      • Be aware of vehicle conditions and fuel levels
  • Equipment Return
    • Work independently or as a team member to unload and load trucks
  • Project Review
    • Timely review and modification of project details prior to dispatch. This includes specified equipment, labor, and logistics plans for the project.
  • Client Interaction
    • Interfacing with clients both on site and in advance to discuss and develop details of events including but not limited to event schedule, setup plans, content, and logistics.
  • Licensing
    • Obtain/Maintain a Class C non-CDL operators permit to safely and legally operate any vehicle that you may be assigned to complete your duties
  • Reporting
    • Timely reporting of field issues using current communications platforms (Teams, Outlook, Lasso, Flex)

General Tech

AV Chicago is a full-service production, rental, and staging company. We are seeking an experienced general tech. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois, but can involve travel across the United States.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Set up, operate, and strike professional audio, lighting and video equipment.
    • Interact with clients in a professional manner and follow instructions from corporate headquarters
    • The ability to lift equipment and perform physical duties such as loading trucks
    • Work with other staff members in a polite and professional manner.
    • Knowledge of how to operate standard AV equipment (PA systems, projection systems, video switchers, LED walls, etc.)

    Qualifications:

    • At least 3-5 years of working experience in event AV or Production support role
    • Knowledge of audio and lighting signal processing, routing, and signal flow.
    • Working knowledge of audio and lighting consoles
    • Basic understanding of LED display systems, processing, and connectivity.
    • Working experience in av AV Technician or Engineering role.
    • Knowledgeable in current AV industry equipment standards, trends, and developments.

Project Manager - PM

Summary of Position:

At AV Chicago, Project Managers play a critical role in the execution of our events. This person is responsible for taking ownership and advancing assigned projects sold by the sales team through our core processes of execution. Project Managers are responsible for planning out project timelines, scheduling client stakeholder meetings, developing run of shows, hosting rehearsals, planning virtual elements, and managing other assigned needs of the project. They are also responsible for keeping projects on time, on-scope, and on budget. Ideal candidates have excellent time management and organizational skills, they enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and they are both great individual contributors and work well within a team.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Project planning- manage sold projects from the sales team through execution of the event.
    • Delivering an exceptional customer experience- on-schedule and on-budget
  • Assist sales with any pre-sales support on resources and capabilities
    • Provide support on client’s needs, budget, and timeline
  • Production support- working on site with the operations teams to deliver
  • Logistics- coordinate transportation, sub-rentals, and labor needs with the operations team
  • Financial responsibilities- track and budget expenses to ensure projects are profitable and within the scope of work.

Video Engineer

Summary of Position:

This role is not only customer-facing for delivering solutions-orientated events but is also critical to the internal systems and teams to engineer events. This role is responsible for creating and documenting the AV Chicago® process for systems engineering and training both internal and freelance staff on best practices for a seamless customer experience every time.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Video Engineer – Providing support to the AV Chicago® video department, including:
    • Acting as a video designer and support specialist
    • Day-to-day management of video department inventory
    • Research and evaluation of new products and technologies
    • Suggesting new products for the AVC inventory
    • Mentoring and training other in-house staff on video equipment
    • Leading an on-site crew or working under the direction
    • Overseeing video department organization
    • Consulting warehouse staff on handling, storage, and quality control of video equipment
  2. Project Review – Reviewing and modifying project details prior to an event, including equipment, labor, and logistical information
  3. Client Facing – Interacting with clients on-site and in advance of events
  4. Working with clients to develop event schedules, set up plans, and show scripts
  5. Equipment Operation – Neat, accurate, and efficient setup and operation of all AVC equipment

Warehouse Video Lead

Summary of Position: 

Warehouse Video Lead will perform an array of functions that include processing incoming and outgoing video components, video equipment, and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. This position is crucial to the accuracy of equipment on show-site and the organization of equipment in the warehouse.  

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Fill AV Chicago production orders, will calls, and rentals.  
  • Maintain all of AV Chicago equipment with a specialty in video products.  
  • Configure gear for orders, check-in and out equipment, clean and generally maintain the Company’s resources in the warehouse. 
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the video department and assist other departments when able.  
  • Quality Control over all AV Chicago Video equipment.  
  • Make sure all software, hardware and firmware is up to date through quality assurance processes. 
  • Perform weekly check-ins with other video department staff.  
  • Create departmental process guides to be followed by all. 
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of video equipment. 
  • Scan equipment barcodes and enter equipment quantity count when performing check-out or check-in tasks. 
  • May function as a Delivery Driver (must have appropriate license and clean driving record). 
  • Complete Company paperwork as required. 
  • Re-stock equipment correctly according to organization processes. 
  • Participate in the loading and unloading of equipment from delivery vehicles. 
  • May operate as assigned warehouse equipment-handling machines in compliance with safety standards and as set forth by the Company. These machines include, but are not limited to: pallet jacks, forklifts and order pickers. An operator must be trained and certified prior to operating any “powered” equipment handling machines. 
  • Participate in cross training as assigned and aid and guidance for related work when necessary. 
  • Create warehouse training documentation and processes for video equipment and accessories 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience with video equipment onsite and in a warehouse setting. 
  • One or more years of work experience preferred with LED Walls 
  • Experience with scanning inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry, and computer skills. 
  • Time management skills 
  • Experience leading a team of full time, part time, and freelance labor.
